As the Chair of the Old Maroon RFC Coaching Search Committee, I am announcing that we are currently in a search for the next Head Coach and Director of Rugby at Texas A&M RFC. As the Alumni Support Group for our Collegiate Club, Old Maroon is also the main contributor to the budget
of the Texas A&M Rugby Club and assist the Club with our knowledge from a combination of over 120 years of experience in this game we all love. We are looking for experienced young coaches who can grow with the Club.
Texas A&M Rugby currently fields two full sides playing competitively in Division 1AA. However, we be replacing our current Director of Rugby and Head Coach at the end of the spring season. As only Rec Sport Club Alumni organization recognized by Texas A&M University and having a charitable foundation in place to help support the club, we are ready for the challenge of hiring a first-class Head Coach. We will be offering a salary commensurate with the coach’s knowledge and capabilities, so that they will be able to live a sustainable lifestyle in this growing Bryan/College Station Metro area.
Please forward this announcement to any candidates you see as qualified to take Texas A&M Rugby to the D1AA National Championships, returning the club to its former glory. If you are a qualified candidate, please email your CV/résumé to me at bill.taute@gmail.com with questions about the program, the job, and salary package. While we have a little time to make sure we get this task on point to be done correctly, we would like to have our new head coach in place by the end of the spring semester. For this reason we will need to receive the resumes by no later than February 28, 2025 to be considered for this position. For overseas candidates, please list any certifications that may go toward USA Rugby Coaching Certifications along with any visa you may have. We are willing to work toward getting the working visas for the right candidate and will include that as a part of the compensation package.
