In March 2025, the University of Virginia Women’s Rugby team embarked on an unforgettable tour of Ireland, organized in partnership by Irish Rugby Tours. Over the course of their trip, the team explored three vibrant cities, played competitive rugby, soaked in the local culture, and witnessed one of the most anticipated Six Nations matchups of the year: Ireland vs. France.
Coach Nancy Kechner, PhD, shared glowing feedback on the experience:
"This was our third tour with Irish Rugby Tours! Working with George and his team is fabulous. They are constantly in contact with you and tailor your tour to your own wishes. My collegiate team had a tremendous time with both their rugby experiences and their cultural outings. Incredible attention to detail and excellent value for all you get on tour!"
The tour wasn't just memorable for the players on the pitch — it was seamless behind the scenes, too.
"I worked as tour coordinator for this trip," said Taylor Wreath. "The experience of setting up the trip was so smooth, and George was always there to answer any questions. The portal made it easy for players to stay informed and get answers fast. But the best part? Once we started traveling, I had to do zero coordination. I could truly enjoy my time and just be a kid again — no stress, just fun!"
From powerful team bonding moments to unforgettable Irish hospitality, UVA’s trip was a shining example of what makes collegiate rugby so special: adventure, connection, and the global language of the sport we all love.
