National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) is pleased to announce the appointment of three distinguished individuals to its Board of Directors: Olivia Malifa, Haukilagi "Kaly" Bouthiaux, and Santiago "Santi" Tagtachian. Each of these board members diversify the experience and expertise of the NCR Board.
The board, composed of 14 independent professionals, brings a wealth of corporate and rugby experience that equips NCR to navigate the challenges and opportunities within the evolving landscape of collegiate athletics.
Olivia Malifa is the co-founder and Managing Director of SOAR Media, with over 20 years of marketing experience specializing in lifestyle, sports, and luxury brands. Olivia and her agency have earned numerous accolades, including recognition as Telstra Business Women of the Year. In addition to her expertise, Olivia has deep ties to rugby through her family and community.
Haukilagi "Kaly" Bouthiaux offers a unique perspective as a firefighter with experience in both the French military and civilian sectors. Her strong leadership skills are complemented by her dedication to youth sports, particularly through her work with the 757 Rugby Academy, where she has been instrumental in expanding rugby at the grassroots level.
Santiago "Santi" Tagtachian brings over two decades of strategic and operational expertise to the board. Santi has started and contributed to a number of successful health care organizations. Originally from Argentina, Santi has played rugby since the age of 6, and is committed to coaching and developing youth rugby in Atlanta, GA.
Of these new appointments, Board Chair Rafael Zahralddin stated, “We are extremely proud to welcome these exceptional individuals. NCR’s board and staff are top-tier professionals who are not only highly skilled but also deeply passionate about rugby. Olivia, Kaly, and Santi exemplify these qualities.”
During its recent meeting, the NCR board also appointed Anton Forbes-Roberts as Vice Chair of Internal Affairs, a key role focused on guiding the organization’s strategic planning and organizational effectiveness.
The addition of these new board members reinforces NCR's mission to support and expand collegiate rugby programs nationwide, ensuring a promising future for the sport.
